The Winter season has started. We do take care of our skin. But what about our hair. Haircare is as essential as our skincare. Hair oils, feeding, brushing, drying, washing, using specific devices. So many factors that can impact hair health. Here are some tips for your hair to look good this winter.
Oil your Hair
Make sure you oil your hair every day. It is the most underrated thing to do. But oiling your hair daily makes it silky, shiny and strong from the root, especially in winter, when hair tends to be frizzy and dry. Here is the tip on how to apply oil.
- If possible warm the oil.
- Start applying from the scalp with the help of a cotton ball.
- Make sure you massage mildly. Don’t be too harsh on your scalp.
- Then apply on the ends. Please keep it for an hour and wash it with your favourite shampoo two times because the oil doesn’t go in one wash.
Improve your Diet for your Haircare
What we eat has a significant effect on the health of our hair. For healthy and robust hair, omega-3 (mainly in fatty fish such as salmon, tuna, and sardines. They nourish the hair, support its growth, and prevent inflammation of the hair follicles (which is a direct factor in hair loss).
They even bring them to shine! Fruits are also very good for health and hair since they are rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Beware of draconian diets that can, on the other hand, harm the hair (as well as health in general) and cause its fall.
Brush and Dry your Hair with the Right Tools
A wide-toothed comb is ideal for untangling all types of hair throughout the day or in the shower when wet (mainly to evenly distribute care in the hair). Brushing your hair is also a necessary act to stimulate it, improve blood circulation and at the same time, accelerate its growth.
It is an essential step before washing that removes as much dirt as possible for more effective cleaning. Another important detail is using a microfiber towel to curl and dry your hair after washing, especially for women with curly hair (to maintain hydration and avoid frizz and breakage).
Limit Heating Devices for Haircare
It is essential to use a thermal protection product when using a heating device (straightening iron, curling iron, hair dryer). Even better for hair health: do not abuse your tools daily!
Your hair cannot handle too much heat. It will cause long-term damage to your hair. You can make messy buns, ponies, or other hairstyles instead of using hair tools daily.
Washing and cutting: the ideal pace to adopt
Ideally, it is best to wash your hair twice a week (shampoo + conditioner) and perform a scalp scrub from time to time to balance the ph. As for nourishing care (hair mask), they are to be carried out once a week. Finally, we do not forget to cut our hair regularly (at least the tips every two months) to keep it healthy!
